Every piece of art tells a story - sometimes whispered, sometimes shouted, but always deeply felt.
Hello, I'm Astrid. I’m thrilled to have you on my page. I am a multidisciplinary artist and my creative journey has been shaped by resilience, reinvention, and the belief that beauty can emerge from even the most broken places. I hope you enjoy discovering my page.
From the streets...
From the streets of Paris to the resilient heart of Beirut,
and now back to France, Astrid's life reads like a testament
to the
transformative power of creativity
in the face of adversity.
Astrid arrived in Lebanon as an infant in 1982, just as the
country descended into conflict.
Growing up amid the chaos of war, she initially dreamed of becoming a doctor like her father.
But when her parents' marriage ended, she made a pivotal
choice: instead of dwelling in heartbreak, she would chase
light through art. It was a decision that felt both like
rebellion and homecoming-after all, she'd been creating since
childhood, decorating events at sixteen and shooting
architectural and advertising photography by eighteen.By twenty-five, she'd built a client base loyal enough to
bet her future on.
Her formal training at the prestigious Académie Libanaise des
Beaux-Arts (ALBA) culminated in
a master’s degree in advertising and a valedictorian
graduation. She started her career as an art director at Impact BBDO
Beirut before launching
Spades, her own photography, casting, and production
company. For fifteen years, she created campaigns for brands like
Tabbah Jewelry, Patchi, GS, and Christelle Atallah, handled
advertising photography for
BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, & Memac Ogilvy,
and earned the
Pan Arab Golden Award
in 2008 for Spades Casting.
But Astrid's creative restlessness never sleeps.
She ventured into emotional jewelry with Moonray,
which thrived for three years until COVID-19 brought the world
to a standstill. Then came the perfect storm: a second
divorce, Lebanon's collapse, the pandemic, and the 2020 Beirut
explosion. Most people would have crumbled. Astrid picked up a
paintbrush.
While working as an international luxury event planner with
Toni Breiss on events like
“VOGUE Ball of Arabia”
- a role that lets her
blend her scientific mind, managerial skills, and artistic
soul
- she began creating two powerful painting series. Both are
conceptual works that reflect the resilience of humans.
In October 2024, after yet another war, Astrid returned to
France with her two kids. She’s rebuilding her life as a
single mother while continuing to evolve as a
multidisciplinary artist who refuses to be defined by a single
medium-or a single story.
Astrid Challita doesn’t just keep pedaling. She creates beauty
from the broken pieces, again and again.
